Durante o período de estiagem em 2020, que foi marcada pela longa sêca, devido as poucas chuvas daquele ano e logo após os incêndios, que destruíram grande parte da vegetação do pantanal mato-grossense, uma expedição de voluntários e voluntárias, que auxiliavam na distribuição de alimentos para animais silvestres e também  ao levando mantimentos para as populações ribeirinhas,  o grupo se depara com uma grande área devastada por máquinas e incêndios criminosos.
